可以输入汉字、海南话拼音（如 ddo）、
普通话拼音（如 chang），或英文。声调可不打。
这部字典的编写，得益于《海南音字典》（广东人民出版社出版）。 那本书把海南话的读音一个一个记录下来、整理成册，为后来的人打下了基础。 没有前人的这份功夫，今天这个网站无从谈起。谨此致谢。
编写过程中，几位老师与专家给予指导，令这部字典少走了很多弯路，一并致谢。
This dictionary owes its foundation to 《海南音字典》, published by Guangdong People's Publishing House. That book set down the readings of Hainanese character by character and gave everyone who came after it something to build on. Our thanks also to the several teachers and specialists whose guidance along the way saved this dictionary a great deal of trouble.

Because of limits in our recording conditions and ability, the audio on this site is provisional and should be treated as a rough guide only. 海南话讲的人越来越少。字典放着不用，就只是一堆字。 查得到、听得懂、说得出，这门话才留得住。 请多用它，也把它转给家人朋友 —— 尤其是家里还讲海南话的长辈，和想学却没处学的后生。
Fewer people speak Hainanese each year. A dictionary that sits unused is just a pile of characters. Please use it, and pass it on — to the elders at home who still speak it, and to the younger ones who want to learn but have nowhere to start.
读音、释义、例词，难免有错漏。 您若发现哪里不对，或者您家乡的讲法跟这里不一样，欢迎指出来。 也欢迎补充字典里没收的词 —— 老话、俗语、口头禅都算。每一条都会有人看。
Readings, definitions and examples will contain mistakes. If something looks wrong, or if your home village says it differently, tell us. You can also add words we have missed — old sayings, everyday phrases, anything. Every submission is read.
字典收的是单字，词典收的是词 —— 老话、俗语、口头禅、日常说法， 那些真正在嘴边讲的东西。这一部分，字典帮不上忙，只能靠讲这门话的人。 您想到什么词，就交上来，哪怕只是一句听阿公阿婆讲过的话。人多一句，词典就厚一分。
The next stage is a dictionary of words, not single characters — sayings, idioms, everyday turns of phrase. No book can supply those; only speakers can. Send in whatever comes to mind, even a single line you remember your grandparents saying.
